Jowar or Sorghum is a millet that is rich in fibre and is grown naturally in central India as it is the natural habitat for the cereal It is grown during the rains across the region in large quantities. Sorghum was originally domesticated in Africa around 5000 plus years ago, thereafter over the years the cultivation has spread through the global over the centuries.
It is a gluten free cereal that helps to fight against free radicals, improves heart health, is rich in protein, controls blood sugar, improves digestive health, etc. We soak the jowar for a couple of hours and then sun-dry the same naturally before popping to make popped jowar that is extremely healthy and can be had either as a snack or one can make some chivda or mixture or as a breakfast cereal.
Our natural jowar is popped in iron skillets as they are non-toxic, non-stick and distribute heat evenly. Svaguna’s popped jowar is made from naturally cultivated jowar in traditional method on our natural farms in Madhya Pradesh.
