Foxnut Atta

Makhana/Foxnuts are roasted and popped seeds of the plant Euryale fox which grows on stagnant water of wetlands or ponds mostly in Eastern India. Our natural foxnuts come from North Eastern Bihar district of Madhubani where majority of the makhana is cultivated in India.

In Ayurveda, makhana is used as food and medicine both as it pacifies both vata and pitta dosha, as Ayurveda considers it to be an anti-oxidant, cardioprotective, anti-melanogenic, anti-fatigue, anti-hyper-glycemic, spermatogenic, astringent, etc. It is considered as a super-food because of its various nutritional benefits and today, even modern science is also recognizing its various health benefits.

We freshly roast our natural makhana and then powder the same to make fresh makhana atta that can be added to wheat or jowar or bajra or besan atta to make them more nutritious and full of health. Svaguna’s foxnut flour is freshly packed on order, hence it retains all its nutrients and properties.
